Kyu Belt Testing on Saturday, December 1, 2012

belt progression for IMA Karate in Louisville, ColoradoThe Dojo will be closed for regular classes on Saturday, December 1st for Kyu Belt Testing.

  • If your current belt level is white through green/white stripe, your testing time is 9:30am.
  • If your current belt level is full green belt (and up), your testing time is 11:30am.

All students who are testing must be at the Dojo at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time.

If you or your child are testing, please pick up an application at the Dojo and return it no later than Thursday, November 29th. Applications will not be accepted on testing day.

2012 IMA Family Unity Tournament – Saturday, December 15

Once again, we are getting closer to the end of the year and it is our tradition to finish the year with the Annual IMA Family Unity Tournament.

This friendly and exciting gathering is designed for all ages and levels (white to black belt) and is held at the Honbu dojo.

The purpose of this tradition is for IMA students (and some IMA dojo friends from different locations) to meet each other, compete and have a good time.

Please download the Family Unity Tournament Information Packet which includes information about the competition divisions as well as the individual and team entry forms.

Please fill out your registration form(s) and return it to the office with payment no later than December 13th.

Annual IMA Picture Day – Tuesday, November 13th

Steven Hoffer Photography will be at the dojo from 5-7pm on Tuesday November 13th to take photos of all students. In addition to being able to order individual photo packages, we will continue our tradition of having a photo collection made of all of the individual students’ photos to hang in the dojo.

It takes less than 2 minutes to have your photo taken but parents and/or students must sign-up for a time slot at the front desk to reserve a time.

Please make sure you have a clean gi for the photos. You may want to schedule your time slot prior to your training.

In addition to signing up for a time slot, please download the price sheet and order form and bring it with you, along with your payment, on November 13th. Please make checks payable to Steven Hoffer Photography, Inc.

Visa & MasterCard will be accepted on picture day, just ask the photographer for a credit card slip.

5th Annual IMA North Fork Karate Championship Tournament

Join IMA North Fork Karate in Grand Junction on Saturday, October 27nd for the 5th Annual North Fork Karate Championship!

Entrance to the Two Rivers Convention CenterOnce again, this year’s tournament will be held at the Two Rivers Convention Center, located at 159 Main St., Grand Junction, CO. IMA North Fork Karate have arranged for accommodations next door to the venue at Hampton Inn or Fairfield Suites. There is also have a more affordable option available with La Quinta.

More information about the tournament can be found at the IMA North Fork Website including the Tournament Entry Form, list of Competitor Divisions, a Map of the area, and a link to pay for your entry fee.

The tournament will be using modified WKF Rules (see www.usankf.org under “member resources”) plus nationally and internationally rated referees and judges.

Sign-in starts at 8:30am and the opening ceremony will be held at 9:30 AM, to give some local participants a chance to travel Saturday AM.
