IMA Welcomes Sensei Luis Ruiz to the IMA Family

sensei-luis-ruizIt is our great pleasure to welcome Sensei Luis Ruiz (5th Dan) to the IMA family.

My wife and I have known Sensei Luis Ruiz for many years and have witnessed his dedication to the sport of karate for a long time. His successes include building a strong dojo (http://www.goshin-ryu.com/), establishing the largest tournament in New York, and forging close alliances with Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic as well as other Pan American areas.

Sensei Luis is a five-time USA National Champion and two-time International World Champion. He has developed many elite athletes nationally and internationally over the years and we are certain that his talent and leadership are a great addition to our IMA family.

Welcome Shihan Rudolph Muhammad!

IMA would like to extend a warm welcome to Shihan Rudolph Muhammad, 6th Dan, as the newest member of our IMA organization from Kansas, USA.

Shihan Muhammad has over 40 years of martial arts training, and originally trained in Shotokan. He has found a home with IMA and is back in touch with his karate roots.

Shihan’s son, David (5th Dan), is a familiar face around the Honbu dojo. He attends our annual Gasshuku and is a member of the IMA competition team. David travels with our team to compete at many tournaments including this year’s US Open championship in Las Vegas and the 2013 National Championship in Greenville, South Carolina.
