IMA Competition Team returned from US Open Competitions

The IMA Competition Team recently returned from Las Vegas, Nevada after competing in the 2017 Karate Junior International Cup and the 2017 Karate US Open. Thousands of karate competitors from all over the world were in Las Vegas from April 44 – 16 to participate in two of the most prestigious karate competitions in North America.

The IMA Honbu Dojo was represented by: Kamran & Kelara Madani, Connor Graves, Kordian Celbia, Kate Nakasato, Kyle Gordon, Ben Chen, Davoud Ashrafian, Parth Kansara, Peter Dessev, Oliver Monkman, Morgan Holien, Alex and Zach Quiachon, Andrew Bullard, Kevin Patel, Caitlin and Connor swonson, Margot Hatley, Joy Hierlmaier and David Muhammed (not pictured).

A huge congratulations goes to all of the competitors and their coaches (Kamran Madani, Vince Quiachon, Davoud Ashrafian & David Muhammed)) who ended up coming back to Colorado having earned over 40 total medals over the 3 days of competition.

A special shut out to Kamran Madani 2 bronze medal (-84kg & team), Davoud Ashrafian bronze (+84Kg) and David Muhammed bronze medal (Team Kumite) for competing in the most intense categories at US Open International Competition.

Regardless of any tournament results, however, the Competition Team, through their hard work, respect for the sport and dedication to the art of Shotokan karate, demonstrated once again why IMA one of the most well-respected organizations in the world of karate today.
