Thank you to everyone who Participated in the 22nd Annual Rocky Mountain Gasshuku

For our 22nd Annual Rocky Mountain Gasshuku, we returned to the Inn at Silvercreek in Granby, Colorado; home of our first gasshuku and the many years that followed. Mother Nature smiled upon our return providing participants from several dojos in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, Missouri, Texas, New York, Kansas, Minnesota, Arizona, California and Florida with beautiful weather for training. On Friday and Saturday, students worked hard learning new kata, sparring and self-defense drills. Rocky Mountain Gasshuku

The IMA Gasshuku is returning to The Inn at Silver Creek in Granby, Colorado on Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2016. The Inn at Silver Creek is 110 miles west of Denver International Airport. The approximately two-hour drive from the airport along I-70 and US-40 West takes you into the Rocky Mountains on your way to Granby. 2016 National Championship and Team Trial

I.M.A. dojo(s) were represented by 16 athletes, 4 coaches and 3 officials at the 2016 USA Karate National Championships and Team Trials in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. They all trained for many extra hours at the dojo to prepare themselves for this intense competition. Each I.M.A. competition team member had an outstanding performance. Five of our team members placed on the USA Jr. Team and will represent United States Karate in the upcoming Junior Pan American Championship in Ecuador. Rocky Mountain Championship

The “2016 Rocky Mountain Championship” date is set for Apr.30-May 1. The 22nd anniversary of this championship promise to be even greater than previous years and with many other states and international confirming their participation, will provide another unique opportunity for all ages to have a great competition. Whether a junior, senior or master competitor, you will most certainly find this tournament a wonderful experience. Congratulation Black Belts

The IMA Family offers its sincere congratulations to everyone who successfully earned new black belt designations on January 30th! Over 30 students and instructors endured 8 hours of training and testing this past Saturday as part of their black belt progression. In addition to multiple members of the IMA family earning advanced black belts through many years of dedicated training, one member of our family were also awarded the title of Shihan – making this past weekend one of the most memorable in IMA’s long history.
