The Dojo will be closed for regular classes on Saturday, February 18th for Belt Testing. If your current belt level is white through green/white stripe, your testing time is 9:30am. If your current belt level is full green belt (and up), your testing time is 11:30am. All students who are testing must be at the Dojo at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time. If you or your child is testing, please pick up an application at the Dojo and return it no later than Thursday, February 16th. Applications will not be accepted on testing day. IMA Dan Testing & Black Belt Extravaganza

On January 28, many of I.M.A. Jr. and Sr. students and black belts (from the Honbu Dojo in Louisville, Colorado and other branches) will get together for another black belt testing experience. After many years of hard work and dedication to the Shotokan style of traditional Japanese karate, we will be rewarding each one of these dedicated karate-ka in achieving the next level of their progress. We’d like all of our dojo members to arrive at class safely and on time. To ensure this happens, please be courteous in the parking lot and observe the following guidelines: If you are stopping by the front door to drop off a student, please pull all the way to the right next to the stairs so other cars may pass you on the left. IMA Karate Annual Holiday Party Fun

IMA Karate’s Annual Holiday Party was held the evening of our Annual Unity Tournament. The day provides a great opportunity for all IMA parents and students to first bond in a friendly competition at the Dojo and then enjoy each others’ company later in the evening (without having to worry about blocking punches and kicks!) Kamran Madani wins Bronze Medal in the World Karate Competition

Kamran was one of two members of the I.M.A. Dojo Competition Team at the recent championship in Malaysia. He competed in the 14-15 years old male-under-70 Kg. Kumite (sparring) category. The other member of I.M.A. was Michael Ford who unfortunately was eliminated before the medal round. The IMA Team trained all year for this highest level international karate event. All of our athletes performed great, starting first at the nationals level in order to qualify for the US Team.
