The International MartialArts Association invites you and your family members of all ages to join us and develop the highest level of technical proficiency in Shotokan karate, a traditional Japanese martial art. IMA also welcomes dojos, clubs, and other organizations to learn about our methods for teaching karate-ka of all ages and abilities, for training effective teachers, and for operating successful dojos.  Our structure and large number of advanced instructors allow us to support all levels of Dan grading.  IMA also provides full access to our resources, including success manuals for students and for dojo principals, to dojos and clubs that establish more formal relationships with us. These affiliate organizations are an important part of the family, representing IMA in Shotokan communities nationally and internationally.  Thank you for your interest in IMA.  We are happy to answer any questions you may have and look forward to hearing from you.

Benefits
Why taking karate lessons?

IMA Students have:
• Self-confidence
• Focus
• Self-Discipline
• Positive Attitudes
• Self-Esteem

At I.M.A. (Traditional Karate Dojo), you will learn a dynamic and powerful martial art. You will learn how
tremendous power may be achieved through correct breathing, coordination of movement and concentration. You will gain mastery over your own body which will help you in self-defense situations and in your everyday life.
However, Karate is much more than the physical experience. It is a complete discipline involving the heart, the spirit, and the physical body. Through the training of the body, we can discipline the mind and temper the spirit. The most important purpose of karate is to develop a balance within ourselves so that we may express our true nature and become better human beings.
Choosing a Karate school (dojo) is a very important step. You need to be sure that you find the place that is right for you and your family. You will want a dojo where the training is serious and the atmosphere is friendly and where each student is able to progress at his or her own rate. Your rate of advancement will depend solely on your personal ability and your level of commitment.
At the I.M.A., there are many factors that make it a unique place to pursue the study of martial arts for yourself and your family:
• Conveniently scheduled classes.
• Convenient location (for Boulder County/Denver Residents).
• Training at any time of the year.
• Special attention by skilled instructors for all student levels.
• We help teach youth to obey their parents and honor friendships.
• Flexible program for starting karate at any time.
• Help youth develop motor skills and coordination.
• Special help for kids with ADD and educational disorders.
• We offer karate, weapons, Tai Chi, Boxercise and special seminars in other martial arts.
